MAX CN31563 is a cast polyurethane Bumper A for the MAX CN70 coil nailer. It is the upper piston bumper, the part that catches the driver at the bottom of the stroke. It is molded in cast polyurethane instead of the usual black synthetic rubber or a lower-grade injection-molded plastic. Cast polyurethane resists tearing and abrasion from the piston better than standard rubber, and it does not soften or turn gummy from air-tool oil the way rubber does. It compresses under the hit and returns to shape instead of mushing or cracking. Industrial polyurethane bumper makers such as Uniflex say polyurethane bumpers last about twice as long as conventional rubber in repeated-impact use. This CN31563 is cast polyurethane, so that wear and oil resistance is the reason it costs more than a black rubber bumper. Service life on a nailer still depends on air pressure, oil, and how hard the tool is run.
